Children need the love, nurturing and security of a family to develop into mature adults. Some children are abused, neglected or are without birth parents with the capacity to care for them. These children need parents and families of their own.
The adoption process is intended to unite parents and children in order to form new families. Through this process a family is created because parents, with the capacity to take care of children, choose a child or children, to provide love and security. Adoption helps the child feel like "I belong."
Whether you are considering adopting a stepchild in an independent adoption or a child with special needs through the state or an agency adoptive process, it is important to work with attorneys in order to understand the expectations, legal process, agreements and costs. At the Manning Firm, we often represent both adoptive and birth parents. Our goal is to assure the legal process is completed in proper order and with a minimum amount of stress for all parties.
